Dewdrops on a green fern frond

About

A small crew, a quiet philosophy.

We grew up in gardens. We still believe a landscape should make you slow down, breathe deeper, and feel a little more at home.

Our story

Started in the dirt.
Still there.

Herald’s Yard began with a small truck, a wheelbarrow, and a stubborn refusal to spray anything we wouldn’t want our children walking through.

Years later, we’re still that same kind of crew — slow, patient, a little obsessive about soil. We work across Canada with homeowners who’d rather grow a garden than manage one.

Every project is a conversation: between us and you, and between the plants and the place.

What we believe

Four roots.

Native first

We choose plants that already belong to your region — they ask less and give more.

No chemicals

Pesticide-free, herbicide-free, every season. The soil thanks us. So do the bees.

Hand craft

Pruning, planting, weeding — slow work, done by people who care.

Long view

We design for the garden you'll love in ten years, not just on opening day.

Where we work

Rooted across Canada.

From quiet city backyards to country acreages, we travel with our tools, our compost and our stubborn standards. Tell us where you are — we’ll tell you what we can do.
